SUMMARY:Tarptautinis folkloro festivalis "Baltica 2018"
DESCRIPTION: \nThe folklore festival Baltica will take place from the 16th to the 21st June 2018. The theme of this year’s festival is “Summer solstice. Bloom” and the festival will be concluded with the celebration of the summer solstice in all the historic regions of Latvia and in Rīga. \nBaltica is an important event for the Baltic peoples\, demonstrating the traditional cultural values – songs\, instrumental music\, storytelling\, games\, dance and applied arts\, craftsmanship and other expressions of traditional culture. The festival will feature traditional ethnographic ensembles\, folk music collectives and groups\, storytellers and other solo performers. Latvia first hosted Baltica in 1988 and thus the festival was one of the pioneers of the National independence movement.
